Dentist Abilene

Get to Know Amy Leigh Critz, DDS

For Dr. Critz, the true joy of dentistry comes from getting to know her patients and knowing she’s helped them in a meaningful way. Taking a tooth or a mouth and transforming it, restoring its esthetics and function, and seeing the joy it can bring to a patient…it’s a sense of satisfaction unlike any other. She takes tremendous pride in her work and is proud to serve the community where she was born and raised.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Critz knew she wanted to do something medical and admits she went into dentistry a little blind. But fortunately, she ended up LOVING IT! She loves the artistic and creative aspects and the ever-changing technology. The results that can be achieved often exceed even lofty expectations, and that keeps things exciting.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Critz attended Abilene Christian University before earning her dental degree from the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. She brings over 15 years of experience to the community, routinely completes advanced training through Spear Education, and is a member of the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Critz and her husband, Logan (a local firefighter), have been married for over a decade, and they have two children, Virginia (“Gia”) and Jack. When she’s not working, she’s all about family. Her siblings have kids about the same age, so it's fun to get together and hang out while everyone plays outside. Speaking of which, Dr. Critz is an avid gardener, which is why our office often has fresh flowers! The vibrant colors combined with the welcoming scent of a candle make our office feel like you’re stepping into Dr. Critz’s home.
